
John Marchica
John Marchica is a veteran health care strategist and CEO of Darwin Research Group. Previously, after a successful stretch in management at Abbott Laboratories, he was the founder and CEO of FaxWatch, a leading medical education company and two-time member of the Inc. 500 list of America's fastest growing companies.
Since 2018, John has hosted Health Care Rounds, a podcast focused on business, policy, and technology trends. He is a frequent keynote speaker, often on the subject of industry strategic partnerships.
Recently, John co-authored “Healthcare Financing, Costs and Value” in Jonas and Kovner’s Health Care Delivery in the United States, a popular introductory textbook for graduate health administration programs in the U.S. He is also the author of The Accountable Organization: Reclaiming Integrity, Restoring Trust and has published articles for Health Affairs, Pharmaceutical Executive, and other health care trade publications.
John did his undergraduate work in economics at Knox College, earned an MBA and M.A. in public policy from the University of Chicago, and completed his Ph.D. coursework and doctoral exams in health economics and policy at The Dartmouth Institute. He is a faculty associate in the College of Health Solutions at Arizona State University and serves as an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
